It would be understandable for Morley not to spring to mind when you are thinking of destinations for a day out, yet the town has a lot to offer for those who live there and those who are passing through.

In autumn, the town plays host to the annual Morley Arts Festival which features live music, poetry, dance, arts, and talks. It’s not to be missed.

If you’re into keeping fit, then Morley won’t let you down on that front either. Morley Leisure Centre features a 25m swimming pool, a 132-station gym, court and pitch hire, and all manner of fitness classes for you to choose from. There are a skate park and bowling green outside the leisure centre, too!

There a few independent gyms in the area as well, alongside lovely green parks dotted around for runs, jogs and dog-walking. Or hoverboarding, if you are so inclined!

When it comes to getting your food shop done, Morley is an area that all the major supermarkets will deliver to. Otherwise, residents have both a large Morrison’s and an ASDA Superstore to choose from.

Other local attractions

Just a stone’s throw from Morley is Birstall Shopping Park — a large out-of-town retail park that is ideal for those times when you need to go shopping but don’t want the hassle of the city centre.

You’ll find everything you need in Birstall — from a large IKEA store to multiple fashion stores, a Showcase Cinema de Lux, and a wide choice of restaurants to grab a bite to eat before the film starts.

If the weather’s not great, those renting a property in Morley live close by to the White Rose Shopping Centre too. This is a large shopping mall, set over two floors — with a wide choice of popular shops downstairs and a food court upstairs with an excellent selection of cafes and restaurants.

There’s also a Cineworld IMAX and ScreenX at the White Rose Centre for those of you with a passion for the big screen.
