Carlton Hill wins Best New Commercial Development at Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards

Pickard Properties is proud to announce that its flagship development, Carlton Hill, has been honored with the ‘Best New Commercial Development’ award at the prestigious Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards 2024.

This accolade underscores Carlton Hill’s exceptional contribution to the provision of high-quality student accommodation in Leeds.

The Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards, now in their 19th year, celebrate outstanding achievements across various sectors in the region. The 2024 ceremony, held at Headingley Stadium in Leeds, recognised businesses that have significantly contributed to Yorkshire’s economic success.

Carlton Hill, a 15-storey purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), offers 604 en-suite rooms designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s students. Strategically located near the city centre and both the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University, the development provides students with modern amenities, including communal kitchens, lounges, smart TVs, sky lounges, and roof terraces.

This recent recognition adds to Carlton Hill’s growing list of accolades, solidifying its status as a multi-award-winning development.

Earlier this year, the project received the ‘Student Accommodation Scheme’ award at Insider Media’s Yorkshire Placemaking Awards, highlighting its focus on sustainability and student well-being.

Miles Pickard, Director of Pickard Properties, said: “We’re incredibly honoured to receive the ‘Best New Commercial Development’ award for Carlton Hill. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our entire team, from the initial design phase through to construction and ongoing management. Our collaboration with Unipol has been instrumental in delivering a high-quality living experience for students. Carlton Hill not only enhances the variety of student accommodation in Leeds but also sets a new benchmark for future PBSA developments.”
