A little history of Burley

While Burley was mentioned as far back as 1195, it was during the late Industrial Revolution when the village really grew in prominence. Remnants of the original village are still visible around Burley Lodge and at the junction of Haddon Road and Burley Road. Towards the end of the 19th century several mills were built in the area along the River Aire and housing was built for the mill workers.

It was during the 2000s that Burley, Headingley and Hyde Park began gathering momentum as popular hubs for students, and today Burley remains a favourite choice for students looking to rent a house in Leeds.

If you are looking for student accommodation in Burley, Pickard Properties has a great choice of options in this rapidly up-and-coming area, and is one of the leading student letting agents in Leeds.
