Where to enjoy Bonfire Night in Leeds

Bonfire Night is one of the most exciting times of the year, with the smell of smoke in the air, dizzying explosions, the warmth of a crackling fire and the magical tastes of toffee apples all making it a night you won’t want to miss.

If you’re fortunate enough to have a garden, there’s always the option to spend this vibrant evening at home.

However, we think there’s nothing quite like the communal spirit of going to one of the many great events that are held throughout the city of Leeds. In fact, there’s so many to choose from, we’d find it too hard to pick just one.

As an estate agent in Leeds, we’re pretty familiar with all the different areas, so here’s six of the best Bonfire Night options from across the city.

This means that, wherever you are located, you’re bound to find somewhere to make the most of this night of sensory wonders.

The following events are all held on Friday 3^rd November:

Roundhay Park

Let’s start off with one of the most popular events on our list –  Roundhay Park attracts tens of thousands of people every year with its spectacular fireworks display and unmatched atmosphere.

The bonfire is traditionally lit at 7.30pm, with the fireworks display beginning at 8pm.

Middleton Park

Another big entrant here, as Middleton Park boasts the largest fireworks display in south Leeds.

They’re known for putting on an explosive show (pun definitely intended), filled with bright colours and sensational sights.

There’s also a great sense of community here, thanks in no small part to their safety poster competition, which brings people together in a good cause.

Fireworks begin at 7pm.

East End Park

If you live in the east end of Leeds and you’re struggling to find somewhere local to go and enjoy Bonfire Night, then you can relax in the knowledge that East End Park will indeed once again be bringing a wonderful fireworks and bonfire experience to the locals.

The bonfire is scheduled to be lit at 7pm, with fireworks set to begin at 7.30pm.

Woodhouse Moore

Conveniently located close to Leeds city centre, Woodhouse Moore might not be the biggest but it is perhaps the busiest place to spend Bonfire Night – with a packed house each and every year.

It’s perfect if you live in the city or if you plan on taking your evening into town to enjoy the many great pubs and bars that are nearby.

The bonfire is set to begin around 7pm.

The following events are held on Saturday 4^th November:

The Hunslet Club

If you’re unable to make it on the Friday or if you just fancy going to another event on the Saturday night, then The Hunslet Club brings together one of the best fireworks displays in the city with an incredible environment. This is complete with the much loved Garden Gate pub for pre-bonfire drinks.

The event starts at around 7.30pm.

The Ings

Stuck for somewhere to enjoy Bonfire Night in Wetherby? If that’s the case, then The Ings might just be the answer to your weekend plans.

This is a terrific event, which brings together the local town.

It starts quite early at 5.30pm but there’s plenty to enjoy here, from fairground rides to face painting.

The actual bonfire begins at 7pm, with the fireworks display starting half an hour later.

The Chemic Tavern

Found in Woodhouse, The Chemic Tavern really is going all out for Bonfire Night, with events lasting all weekend long.

This means if you’re stuck at work, there’s still plenty to get you in the festive spirit here.

However, if you are lucky enough to make it on the Friday, you’ll be treated to a DJ set lasting until 1am.

They have their main fireworks display on Saturday at 10pm and on Sunday, they’ll cap off their weekend with the burning of the Guy Fawkes effigy.

Not only that, but it’s all for a good cause too, with money being raised for mental health charity MIND.
